Homemade Body Moisturizing Cream Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup of aloe vera gel (buy here)
- ½ cup beeswax in pearls (buy here)
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil (buy here), sweet almond oil (buy here), jojoba oil (buy here), or any other liquid vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of pure vitamin E oil (buy here) (optional)
- 1 tablespoon shea butter (buy here) or cocoa butter (buy here)
- 15 drops of essential oil of your choice and that are suitable for the skin
Preparation
1. In a bowl, mix the aloe vera gel, vitamin E oil, and essential oil. Reserve for later at room temperature.
2. Combine the beeswax, olive oil (or liquid oil of your choice), and shea or cocoa butter in a glass container in a double boiler. Stir occasionally until the beeswax is completely melted.
3. Carefully remove the glass container from the pot of water. Pour the wax, oil, and butter mixture into the glass of a hand mixer, mini mixer, or blender.
4. Let cool to room temperature. This will help ensure that the cream emulsifies properly.
5. When it begins to harden around the edges, begin beating the mixture at low speed. Make sure to scrape down the sides before you start. Very slowly and continuously, add the mixture of aloe vera, vitamin E, and essential oils.
6. Stop the mixer as many times as necessary to clean the sides with a spatula. Mix again until all ingredients are fully incorporated and have the desired consistency. This process will only take about 10-15 minutes.
7. Don't leave your mixer or blender unattended, and be sure to continually push any separated liquid around to reach the blades.
8. Transfer the moisturizer to some very clean glass jars and store them in the fridge.
Why Make Homemade Body Moisturizer?
We often forget that our skin is the largest organ in our body and it absorbs everything we put on it. If you use body lotions and creams with chemicals (fragrances, preservatives, colorants, etc.) keep in mind that your skin also absorbs these chemicals.
However, a homemade moisturizer for the body and hands, made with natural products such as pure oils and butter along with essential oils, is ideal.
This homemade cream recipe has ingredients that are easy to find, highly hydrating, and high in nutrients:
The oils and butter vegetables are rich in vitamins and have antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties. Very rich in essential fatty acids, they provide the skin with elasticity, are anti-wrinkle, and prevent premature aging, among others.
- The gel aloe vera is soothing, refreshing, and anti-inflammatory.
- Vitamin E is the most potent antioxidant there and a natural preservative.
- The essential oils will give you a very pleasant fragrance. In addition, you can make your cream help you treat different skin problems, such as:
- Try rose oil or geranium oil if you have dry or aging skin.
- Do you need energy and freshness? Test lavender oil, the oil of lemon, or grapefruit oil.
- If you have problems like psoriasis or eczema, frankincense essential oil, lavender oil, sandalwood oil, chamomile oil, rose oil or jasmine oil could help.
- Do you want to avoid stretch marks? Lavender oil, neroli oil, rose oil or geranium oil as excellent choices.

Only use 100% pure and organic vegetable oils and butter.
The essential oils should be of high quality. You can experiment with different oil blends, but be careful with phototoxic essential oils if you are going to get the sun in any area of the body where you have applied this body moisturizer.
If you are allergic to any of the oils or butter listed above, simply replace them with others. Just be sure to replace a solid with a solid and a liquid with a liquid.
Vitamin E oil acts as a natural preservative that will give your cream a duration of 2-3 months.
You can leave a small container in the bathroom and refill it with the moisturizer that you keep in the fridge.
Patience is key when mixing and waiting for this cream to emulsify. However, it is worth it!
