EASY HOMEMADE DIY STRAWBERRIES LIP SCRUB!
Strawberries are one of our favorite summer fruits! Not only are they juicy, sweet and succulent, (everything we stand for at Treat Beauty!) they are packed in antioxidants that will help to plump your pout and slow down the signs of aging, as well as provide gentle yet highly effective exfoliating properties for silky, soft lips that are just begging to be shown off with your lip balm or lipstick!
Lip sugar scrubs are great to use once in a while to revive tired skin on your lips. You can, of course, buy lip scrubs in the beauty shops, but they are so easy to make at home, that anyone can make them. You’ll also save a bit of money and use fresh ingredients without any chemicals, so it’s a win-win situation. It’s both practical and frugal at the same time!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 2 tbsp organic cold-pressed coconut oil
- 1 tsp raw organic honey
- 1 1/2 tsp granulated organic white sugar
- 1 fresh organic strawberry
- 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
Is Strawberry good for lips?
Strawberries are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, which makes them a great ingredient for nourishing the skin on your lips.
Honey:
Honey can help moisturize your lips and protect cracked lips from infection. It also works as a mild exfoliator and can help remove dry, dead skin from your lips. Choose organic honey, and apply it to your lips throughout the day using your fingers or a cotton swab.
Coconut Oil:
It absorbs quickly and leaves the skin feeling supple and looking glowy. As a lip oil, specifically, it adds moisture and eliminates dry and flaky skin. If your lips are chapped or cracked, adding coconut oil to your lip care routine will help to heal them and maintain their softness.
Sugar:
Sugar being a natural abrasive, can remove dead cells easily and so, it is one of the best natural skincare exfoliants.
Direction:
- Using the back of a spoon, crush the strawberry.
- In a small bowl, mix the coconut oil and honey.
- Add strawberry into the mixture and stir in your sugar.
- Add vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir well.
- If the scrub is too runny, add more sugar.
Use:
just in case you are wondering, no you don’t mean to eat them or leave them on your lips, massage your lips gently with the sugar scrub and wash off with warm water.
Strawberry sugar scrub can be made and used at any time of the year, but if you're looking for the perfect scrub for Valentine's Day, consider this easy scrub recipe.
